A spotlight on Tim Lefroy: Speaker at this year’s Inspire London event on 14th April

Tim Lefroy 150x150

Tim joined the Advertising Association in 2009. With a purpose to promote the role, rights and responsibilities of advertising, the AA is the ‘big tent’ for the advertising and media trade associations where the industries’ leaders come together to lead. As well as being advertising’s front line with government, the AA shapes advertising’s policies and influences its codes via the Committees of Advertising Practice and the ASA self-regulatory system.

It leads UK advertising promotion to the wider world through Front Foot, Credos – advertising’s think-tank – and LEAD, the annual industry summit. Tim is a member of the government’s Creative Industries Council, Vice Chairman of CAP and a Board member of ASBOF which funds the ASA.

He spent thirty years in client-side & agency roles with Cadbury’s, Gillette & McCann Erickson. He was CEO of agencies Yellowhammer and Young & Rubicam before founding Radical, a change and transformation consultancy. He is a trustee of Hammersmith’s Riverside Studios, a mentor on the senior programme of the Marketing Academy, a NED & business adviser and the proud father of three daughters.

What inspires Tim?

The capacity we all have to make a difference.

What three words would Tim use to describe a successful leader?

Having great support.

One piece of advice that Tim would you give to someone who wants to lead?

Stop wanting. Start doing.
