Kathryn Furnari, Group Business Director, PHD

Kathryn is a media professional with over 15 years of agency experience, working across both local and global clients. Her love of FMCG brands led her to PHD where she is presently leading a team of 19 working across the Unilever Australia business.

Kathryn is responsible for overall client satisfaction, driving business outcomes, leading a high performing team and delivering award winning work. In the past two years, Unilever has been recognised on the local and global stage at Adnews, Ministry of Sports Marketing Awards, Festival of Media Asia for Streets, Lipton Ice Tea and Ben & Jerrys respectively. Her current focus is on delivering data-driven marketing solutions and helping her team navigate the ever-changing role of media agencies and prepare them for jobs that don’t exist yet!

Prior to PHD, Kathryn worked at IKON Communications as a Client Service Director leading the Coca-Cola business, delivering several iconic ‘Summer’ campaigns. This was followed by nib, Stockland and Bankwest. Kathryn started her career at Starcom where she spent 6 years working across a variety of clients in the Auto, Tech and Entertainment categories.

Kathryn is a natural leader with a track record of being authentic, approachable and resilient. She is well respected by her superiors, peers and clients and takes pride in the relationships she has built throughout her career. She has a very loyal and motivated team and enjoys incredibly low turn-over compared to the market averages.

Kathryn loves working for companies and brands that support diversity, have clear values and a great culture and strongly believes that life is too short to be in a job that you don’t love!
