Paul Connell, Executive Board Director / Marketing Leader & Sustainable Business Expert

Paul is passionate about helping Great businesses have a bigger impact and Big businesses have a greater impact – both in scaling up their potential and transforming their business models to be truly future fit.

Within Unilever, one of the worlds largest CPG companies and a global leader in Sustainable Business, he has proven, both as a board level Managing Director and Marketing Executive,  how to do this in a way that creates high performing teams, entrepreneurial cultures with faster, bolder opportunities / innovation and therefore growth.

Paul has demonstrated success in how to lead large and small organisations with multiple categories, brands, business models and situations. Each time he has loved looking through a broad perspective, setting simple compelling visions, identifying future pockets of growth & quickly putting in place the focus, transformation and culture required to deliver.

Throughout this he’s had full accountability for the total business, strategy, P&L, organisation design (including route to market and supply chain infrastructure) and always play an active role in unlocking the growth mindset, potential and purpose of people within the company.

He believe’s that the magic often lies within a business, market, industry and its people – as such he enjoy’s playing a role more broadly in the industry to help others discover this – whether it be via The Marketing Academy, CMO Top 50 or advisory / board positions as Sustainable Business Australia & Cambridge Institute of Sustainable Leadership where he has been able to help people find the sweet spots between an ambition to grow & succeed and the positive impact they wish to have.
