Adrienne Gammie, Category Marketing Director, Gin, Pimm’s & Baileys, Diageo

As Category Marketing Director for Gins, Pimm’s & Baileys in the GB market, Adrienne leads brand teams who develop & scale growth drivers for some of the UK’s tastiest drinks, including Gordon’s and Tanqueray. She is known as a highly collaborative leader focussed on simplifying the complex, working closely with global brand teams, agencies and cross-functional teams in markets to deliver the most effective & scalable plans.

A Diageo globe-trotter with 13 years of emerging and developed market experience, Adrienne has previously lived in Jakarta where she was Marketing & Innovation Director for Diageo Indonesia, the world’s 4th most populous country (and – less well-known – the 8th largest market globally for Guinness!), as well as in Amsterdam & Singapore, as part of the Johnnie Walker Global Brand Team. A highlight during this time was leading the brand’s global Formula One and Ryder Cup sponsorships – working at the weekend is less of a chore when you can do it gazing out to sea on Monaco yacht with a whisky highball in hand.

An ex-cheerleader, Adrienne’s purpose is ‘cheering people on to win – the smartest way’. She is passionate about mentoring & championing women and has remained a remote mentor to female colleagues based around the world. One of her career highlights was being asked to speak at a ‘Heels of Steel’ event for women in advertising at BBDO Indonesia.

Outside of work, Adrienne likes nothing better than hiking up a mountain and has entered a few triathlons during her journey around the world (slowly – it’s the taking part that counts!). She also loves throwing a dinner party, especially if board games are involved (where winning at all costs becomes the priority!). Thanks to Diageo she has a well-stocked home bar and is delighted when asked to shake up cocktail.
