Alex Batchelor, Non-Exec Chair at Watch Me Think

Alex is an investor in a number of businesses (Flawsome, Thrift+, Amicable, On Cloud Wine and about 5 others), a local councillor, and CEO of his own consulting company (JJEPGA Ltd).

Prior to this Alex was the European MD for Behaviorally, the Chair for Watch Me Think and an NED for Mission Translate – as well as being an angel investor with a group called ClearlySo – and a consultant for various venture capital/private equity funds – helping their companies with growth and efficiency projects. Alex was also the Chief Operating Officer of BrainJuicer (now called System1) – an AIM-listed market research company – and on the agency side has worked as the MD Interbrand and as a Planning Director at Saatchi & Saatchi.

Alex has also had a number of client side marketing roles, as the CMO of TomTom, the Marketing Director of the Royal Mail and Vice President Global Brand at Orange and started his marketing career at Unilever.

Alex is a fellow of the Marketing Society, was their Chairman for 2 years and a board member for 8. He has been a council member at ISBA, on the Technology Advisory Board for funds like Sofinnova – and has invested in a number of small businesses doing things as diverse as making juice, making ice and printing signs. Over the course of his career he has been responsible for a revenue target of £7bn and teams as large as 1500 people – and for teams as small as him and in businesses with less than 20 people and £1m turnover. Moving abroad when he was only 6 weeks old, Alex has travelled extensively, living in 10 countries, working in more than 40 and visiting over 120.

Outside work Alex can be found watching and playing sport and acting as a figure of fun to his wife and four children.

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE GLOBAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2026 ARE OPEN

Applicants may apply to EITHER cohort regardless of country of residence, but must commit to attend both Residential dates & the Virtual day of their chosen cohort. Attendance is mandatory and a condition of acceptance onto the program.
