Alex Cogan-Briata (better known as ACB) has built a career across commercial partnerships, marketing and brand development with roles at The Walt Disney Company, L’Oréal and the NBL Group.
Originally interested in brain sciences and filmmaking, she instead pursued a career in advertising and marketing as a way to combine her interests.
Her career has been shaped by saying yes to new things and a drive to connect brands and audiences in meaningful ways. Working in international teams and extensive travel has also given her valuable insight into different perspectives and the power of connection.
ACB currently works in the adrenaline-filled world of professional basketball as Commercial Growth Manager at the NBL Group – home to Australia’s premier men’s and women’s leagues. In this role she leads new business development and strategic partnerships that drive revenue, fan engagement and the ongoing growth of the game.
Previously, she spent several years at The Walt Disney Company across Studios, Consumer Products, Retail Marketing and Disney+ Streaming where she partnered with leading retailers, licensees and media organisations and was fortunate to learn from a range of industry leaders.
Career highlights include directing VIP talent tours across Asia, coordinating a Bollywood music video for The Avengers, delivering the first Marvel collectibles campaign with Woolworths, helping launch early partnerships for Disney+, and bringing new partners into the world of basketball at the NBL Group.
Inspired by those who have generously shared their time and advice, ACB is passionate about mentoring and supporting others. She currently volunteers as a career mentor with Headspace Youth Foundation and this year joins Larita Academy as a co-coach.
A big believer that life is one big adventure, ACB is always looking for a new story to share but her favourites are the ones shared with her husband and two spirited kids.
