Allyson Witherspoon, Chief Marketing Officer, Nissan Motor Corporation

Allyson Witherspoon is chief marketing officer and global brand advisor for Nissan Motor Corporation where she is responsible for global brand strategy, marketing communications and media, data innovation, and customer experience to enhance brand value and earn customer trust through brand and product marketing. 

Most recently, Witherspoon was corporate vice president, Global Marketing at Nissan’s global headquarters in Japan. Prior to that, she served as, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, where she was responsible for marketing communications and media, and model line/product marketing, focusing on revenue growth and profit generation for the Nissan brand and its dealer network in the U.S. She also served as general manager, Global Brand Engagement at Nissan’s global headquarters in Japan, where she was responsible for leading and implementing Nissan’s global marketing and investment strategy, including creative, media, sponsorship, agency structure and heritage collection.

Prior to her role in Japan, Witherspoon was the director of Marketing Communications and Media for INFINITI USA, where she developed the vision and led the execution of the brand’s cross-carline marketing strategy.

Witherspoon brings more than two decades of global marketing, communications, brand leadership, and organizational transformation for Fortune Global 200 companies. She is one of the most-recognized leaders in the automotive industry and has been named CMO to Watch (2025) and Global Leading Women (2024) by Ad Age, Most Innovative CMO’s (2021, 2022) by Business Insider, Automotive Marketer of the Year (2022) by MediaPost, Global Top 50 Power List (2022) by MotorTrend, and 100 Leading Women in North America (2020) by Automotive News.

Witherspoon holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is currently a Board Member on the Trulaske Dean Board of Directors at her alma mater as well as a Board Member for the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA).

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.

Applicants may apply to EITHER cohort regardless of country of residence, but must commit to attend both Residential dates & the Virtual day of their chosen cohort. Attendance is mandatory and a condition of acceptance onto the program.
