Brian Bene, VP Brand & Marketing, Octopus MoneyCoach

Brian is a brand, innovation and strategy leader with a proven track record of building and growing new brands. He spent 10 years as a creative strategist, partnering up with start-up founders and businesses to build their brands and develop new services. Now, he leads brand and marketing at Octopus MoneyCoach, a new money brand with a mission to transform a million lives by making personalised, 1-to-1 money advice accessible to everyone.

Before joining MoneyCoach, Brian led teams of strategists and creatives to incubate new ventures at the consultancy, Bow & Arrow (now part of Accenture Song). There, he worked with the likes of Google, MINI, The Wall Street Journal, Vodafone, Saga, Airbnb and many more. When Bow & Arrow joined Accenture Interactive in 2019, Brian led key strands of the integration before overseeing marketing and thought leadership.

Originally from the states, Brian started his career in brand consulting at Redscout in New York. He eventually led brand strategy and innovation work for start-ups (including Harry’s, HelloFresh and Allbirds) and corporates (including Bacardi, Pepsi and American Express) at pivotal moments in their history. In 2014, he moved from New York to London to help open Redscout’s first international office.

Brian is passionate about building a new generation of conscious brands that will make a positive impact on people and the planet. He’s the proud dad of a pup called Patrick, enjoys cycling and country walks, binge watching Drag Race and baking his way through Mary Berry’s Baking Bible.
