Calvin Lau currently leads the marketing strategy for Google’s Digital skills training programmes (including Digital Garage, One-to-One Mentoring and Google Career Certs), and is responsible for partnerships, content and events. She has spent the last 18+ months empowering job seekers, and small business owners across the UK to learn more about digital marketing; helping them to achieve their career goals and/or grow their business online.
A determined and passionate Marketing lead with over 13 years of B2B and B2C experience in the UK, and EMEA. She’s built multiple teams from the ground up, driving growth and launching brand campaigns for Android, Chromebooks, Google Assistant, Search and YouTube. A creative at heart with strong ideation, she is commercially savvy and has an entrepreneurial mindset with a strong record of promotions within Google.
As a proud DEI champion, both inside and outside of work, Calvin is the Chair of Google’s Asian community network in Europe, and a member of MEFA, an organisation supporting Asian and Black+ talent in the media industry. Fostering a diverse and inclusive culture for Google and the industry, she has spoken and moderated educational panel talks for our Black and Asian Googlers.
Calvin grew up in New Zealand, and considers herself a Taiwanese-British-Kiwi. She came to London 12 years ago with a backpacker mindset, and just…never…left. Outside of work, she spends time drawing, running and surfing. She cannot wait for the next Burning Man festival in Black Rock City.
