Ceri Rose is an experienced marketing and communications leader with over 20 years of work in both the public and private sectors. As Director of Strategy, Marketing, and Communications at The Open University, she has led significant changes and growth. This includes bringing together diverse teams, launching the “The Future is Open” brand platform, introducing new products, and driving innovations that have increased revenue and improved access to higher education for underrepresented groups.
Ceri’s career highlights include senior leadership roles at Tesco, where she played a key role in digital retail innovation. She launched Tesco’s first social media channels, developed multichannel marketing strategies, and delivered strong growth in online sales across various product categories. At NHS Blood and Transplant, she led award-winning campaigns such as “Missing Type”, secured £11.5 million in government funding for an organ donation awareness campaign, and built partnerships that increased donor representation in Black and Asian communities.
Ceri is recognised for her strategic vision, creative thinking, and ability to use data to solve complex problems. She is passionate about delivering meaningful change, whether by improving lives through better donor-patient matching or promoting greater diversity and inclusion in education.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ceri is a board member for the Open College of the Arts and the National Extension College.
