As EVP & Chief Customer Officer, Chad Fox is responsible for customer insights & analytics; marketing, media & creative; ecommerce & digital product; and customer care. Charged with stewarding an unmistakably Academy brand, inspiring customer engagement, and ultimately generating demand.
He is a proven leader with over two decades of retail, CPG, and agency experience building brands and developing integrated marketing campaigns that deliver results.
He served as Chief Marketing Officer at Dollar General Corporation. In this role, he was charged with representing the voice of the customer, stewarding an unmistakably Dollar General brand, generating demand and driving customer engagement, and leading the DG Media Network.
Prior to joining Dollar General, Chad spent over 12 years at Walmart Inc. where he most recently held the position of Vice President of Retail Marketing—responsible for marketing and media activities across merchandise categories, digital products and services, and seasonal events. Prior to that, he was the Vice President of Advertising where he led advertising efforts for Walmart—spearheading world-class work that elevated the brand and had talk value. He started his Walmart career as the Senior Manager of Brand Marketing, and progressed in roles of increasing responsibility across Category Marketing, Brand Marketing, and Advertising.
Chad launched his marketing career with over five years at The Richards Group in Dallas before heading to the client side at Tyson Foods, Inc. to take on a Brand Manager role.
He is a proud Red Raider, receiving both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Texas Tech.
Out of high school, Chad served as an F/A-18 Hornet mechanic and plane captain in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, receiving an honorable discharge as a Sergeant (E-5) upon completion of eight-year commitment.
He has been married to his college sweetheart, Ashleigh, for over twenty years. They are the proud parents of three amazing children—Max, Hadley Claire, and Hud.
