Cheryl is an award-winning PR and business strategist with more than 45 years of experience. An ICF MCC credentialed and certified master coach, she is also accredited in public relations and is known for her high-energy, dynamic leadership.
She has a proven track record of success, having coached and worked with over 2,000 senior executives across business, academic, government, and nonprofit sectors worldwide. She currently serves as executive coach for Ernst & Young.
As a subject matter expert, Cheryl has designed and implemented strategies in crisis communications, strategic planning, change management, internal communications, and media relations. She has held leadership roles at Fortune 100 companies, including Ernst & Young, DePaul University, Home Box Office (HBO), Nielsen Marketing Research, and Golden State Mutual. As a consultant and coach, she has collaborated with iconic brands such as Coca-Cola, Nissan, Allstate, McDonald’s, McCain Foods, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, and Magellan.
A prolific writer, Cheryl has authored over 200 articles, contributed to a dozen public relations and coaching books, and is frequently interviewed and quoted by the media. She is a sought-after keynote speaker and guest lecturer, delivering impactful presentations on leadership, communications, reputation management, and change management to audiences around the globe.
Cheryl’s professional leadership includes serving as the 2006 President and CEO of the Public Relations Society of America. She currently serves on the editorial board of Choice, the magazine for professional coaches; as former vice chair and secretary/treasurer of the International Coaching Federation Global Enterprise Board of Directors; on the national committee for the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communications; and as a member of the Board of Trustees for Bradley University.
Cheryl holds a B.S. degree from Bradley University, an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management, and an M.A. degree from DePaul University.
