Over the past 25 years, Claire has led global brands and marketing programs across agency and client-side roles in Africa, Europe and Australia, with the last 12 years spent leading marketing functions within major ASX-listed organisations, including Westpac and Woolworths Group, now leading marketing at Guzman Y Gomez.
Her strengths lie in simplifying complexity, creating clarity through communication, and balancing creativity with commercial rigour. Having started her career in strategic planning roles before moving into executive marketing leadership, Claire firmly believes the best results come from combining the art of brand building with the science of business performance. She holds a Bachelor of Business Science from Rhodes University, South Africa, with postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology and Marketing.
Claire joined GYG as Marketing Director Australia in February 2026 and was appointed Chief Marketing Officer in June 2026. She feels like she has landed exactly where she belongs being very partial to Mexican cuisine and spicy margs.
Outside of her day job, Claire is deeply committed to nurturing talent and advancing industry standards. She actively contributes to the industry through guest lecturing, mentoring, and serving as a judge for numerous industry awards. Outside the office, she can be found spending time with friends, at the ocean, travelling, cooking, and wrangling a wonderfully chaotic household with her fabulous husband, three teens/tweens, and Gus the Schnauzer.
