Claire West, General Manager Marketing, Woolworths

Kind to the people but hard on the work is what I strive to be every day. I achieve this by leading incredible marketing teams with a proven track record of driving significant growth and brand transformation within complex, large-scale organisations like Woolworths Group and Westpac.

My superpowers are simplifying complexity, fostering clear communication, and navigating challenging market conditions. With my early career spent in creative agencies both in Australia and overseas backed by a Business Science Degree with a finance major, I am a firm believer of the blend of art and science to achieve outcomes.

Outside of my day job, I am deeply committed to nurturing talent and advancing industry standards. I actively contribute to the industry through guest lecturing, mentoring, and serve as a judge for numerous industry awards. I am an old friend of TMA as I was lucky enough to have been part of the 2019 Marketing Academy Scholarship. Outside the office I’ll be found spending time with friends, at the ocean, travelling, cooking, and wrangling a wonderfully chaotic household with my fabulous husband, three teens/tweens, and Gus the Schnauzer.
