As a growth marketing expert with 18+years of experience, Emma leads the brand and marketing for Channel 4’s advertising arm. She is responsible for driving the narrative which sets Channel 4 apart from its competitors by encouraging brands to advertise alongside Channel 4’s diverse and altogether different programming remit.
Prior to joining Channel 4, Emma spent 12+yrs at PHD, a large UK media agency, as the wellbeing and engagement lead where on top of her marketing lead role, she also ran the mental health for the agency’s parent group Omnicom Media Group UK. With experience in comms and engagement, and after training as a mental health first aider, Emma upskilled in workplace wellbeing strategy and consultancy and even went on to complete a postgrad in Neuroscience and Psychology at Kings College London to gain a better understanding on how to support people in the workplace and enable them to thrive. As a marketer, Emma believes what your employees say about your brand is just as important as what your customers say and believes a happy healthy workforce delivers a better bottom line. With this skillset, Emma works pro-bono as a workplace wellbeing consultant, helping HR leaders engage with their workforce on mental health initiatives.
Emma has won Campaign’s 40 over 40 award in 2022 and won the most inspiring senior leader of the year award in 2021 at the This can Happen workplace wellbeing awards. She writes a mental health blog (www.insanelynormal.co.uk) and also acts as an executive ambassador for the CIPD visiting secondary schools, supporting with CV writing and encouraging young people into the world of media and marketing.
