Emma Macan, Senior Lead, Lean In Global Program – Sheryl Sandberg & Dave Goldberg Foundation

Emma is the Program Lead for Lean In in Europe—and the first and only international employee of the Sheryl Sandberg and Dave Goldberg Family Foundation. LeanIn.Org, the non-profit organisation founded by Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg exists to empower all women to achieve their ambitions. They provide inspiration and support through an online community, free education materials, and Lean In Circles, small peer groups who meet regularly to share and learn together.

In this role, Emma is responsible for growing awareness of LeanIn.Org Programmes in Europe and supporting and developing a growing community of 15,000 Lean In members to unleash their potential as well as partnering with organisations who share the common goal of empowering women to achieve their ambitions–to launch Lean In Circles. Emma is passionate about empowering more women to step outside of their comfort zone and take on new challenges. Her journey with Lean In began back in 2016 when she founded her own Lean In Circle – the Lean In Supper Club – which grew to a network of 500+ women in London in just 12 months.

Previously, Emma spent 6 years working in Sales and Trade Marketing at both Procter and Gamble, where she was recognised as the 2016 Global Salesperson of the Year – and Coty, most recently as the UK Customer Director for Boots, the largest UK fragrance retailer.
