Emma Terry, Chief Marketing Officer – Tourism Tasmania

Emma is a passionate marketer with over 20 years of marketing experience across a range of industries including food and produce, exporting, engineering, energy, hospitality and tourism.

In her current role as Chief Marketing Officer for Tourism Tasmania, Emma is responsible for leading programs that drive demand for Tasmania as a holiday destination. Tourism Tasmania is highly regarded for its destination marketing that pushes the bounds. Under Emma’s leadership Tourism Tasmania launched a new brand platform ‘Come down for Air’, the platform and associated campaigns are highly regarded, attracting a number of national awards.

Prior, retail and transport businesses. Prior to Federal Group Emma was the Director Strategy, Sales and Marketing for Entura, an international engineering consulting business which involved the market identification and development for a national and international expansion program .

Throughout her career Emma is a believer that marketing is about ‘managing the market’ and has been particularly interested in spanning the silos between marketing and other related disciplines, applying marketing principles for greater integration and business outcomes.

Emma is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has held a number of Board and Mentor roles to joining Tourism Tasmania, Emma led the Customer Transformation program for Federal Group (a large multi sector business) which included developing customer-centric marketing strategies and capability across the Group, for their tourism, hospitalityfor not for profit organisations including mentoring for DFAT women in global business, is currently Chair of Engender Equality, a specialised domestic violence counselling service, a director for the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and is a Mentor for Mentor Walks Australia.

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE GLOBAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2026 ARE OPEN

Applicants may apply to EITHER cohort regardless of country of residence, but must commit to attend both Residential dates & the Virtual day of their chosen cohort. Attendance is mandatory and a condition of acceptance onto the program.
