Gareth Jones, CMO – Sotheby's

Gareth joined Sotheby’s in January 2023 where he is responsible for global growth of the brand, marketing and content strategy, alongside client proposals and business development. He also leads the recently revamped Sotheby’s Media department ahead of the much-anticipated re-launch of Sotheby’s Magazine later this year.

Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Gareth was the Chief Marketing Officer at Farfetch where he was responsible for the global growth, sales, and marketing strategy for three years. He was also the CMO at eBay, where he helped grow the UK business to over 27 million active buyers in the UK and drove double digit YOY revenue growth. He has worked across sectors including personal finance at Compare the Market, telecommunications with T-Mobile, retail with Carphone Warehouse and Best Buy, and currently fine art and luxury.

He has a degree in Business and Management Science from Nottingham Trent University, and has been a Board Advisor for Savi, the ultimate online fashion matchmaker, since January 2024.

All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.

Applicants may apply to EITHER cohort regardless of country of residence, but must commit to attend both Residential dates & the Virtual day of their chosen cohort. Attendance is mandatory and a condition of acceptance onto the program.
