Gill Zhou is the President of Condé Nast China, the world’s leading organization creating culture-defining storytelling that influences global audiences everywhere. Responsible for introducing world-leading brands to China and promoting China’s local brands to the rest of the world, Gill leads cross-functional teams to create unique values for consumers, to build sustainable growth momentum for commercial clients and to reshape the landscape of China’s fashion, culture and creative industry. A positive change maker and a role model of numerous young professionals with a proven track record, Gill is leading continuous innovations and creating cultural moments with long-lasting impact through “4+1” sub-brands, namely Vogue, GQ, Conde Nast Traveler, Architectural Digest and Vogue Business under Condé Nast China, enabling businesses of various sectors to enhance audience acquisition and engagement across all the major digital and social platforms.

Prior to Condé Nast, Gill was Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of IBM Asia Pacific. Gill has led brand and marketing teams across 13 countries, and spearheaded IBM’s brand reinvention from traditional IT into an Open, Hybrid Cloud & AI Company. As APAC CMO, she was accountable for all demand-generation initiatives that supports IBM’s $ 7 billion business in APAC region. In 2020, Gill established IBM’s Digital Sales Center in Greater China and formulated the best-ever client digital buying experience for B2B companies similar to IBM.

As a member of the Board of Directors of Effie Worldwide for four years, Gill gathered industry pioneers to jointly accelerate the development of effective marketing with better ROI. In 2019, she was elected as the Chair of Effie Greater China Council to drive the growth of Effie Awards’ programs and brand developments in the Greater China Market.

Since 2021, Gill hasserved as an independent director of Gotion High-Tech ( Stock code: 002074 ), a listed company in Shenzhen, China.

Gill was also named as one of the “Most Powerful Women” in 2021 by Fortune China. In 2013, CITIC Press Group published Gill’s career autobiography, “Bloom: Fortune Global 500 CMO Talks about Workplace”. In 2012, Advertising Age granted her the first “Chinese Women to Watch” award, recognizing her contributions in promoting women development and leadership in China.

Gill graduated from Luo Yang Foreign Studies University with a BA degree in English Literature. She also holds an MA degree in English and American Comparative Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University. In 2016, Gill has attended a DBA program co-hosted by the Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business (CKGSB) and Singapore Management University (SMU).

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.

Applicants may apply to EITHER cohort regardless of country of residence, but must commit to attend both Residential dates & the Virtual day of their chosen cohort. Attendance is mandatory and a condition of acceptance onto the program.
