Isabel Massey, Global Media Director – Diageo

Isabel is Diageo’s first-ever Global Media Director, leading Diageo’s media strategy and planning process as well as transforming the spirit and beer producer’s media capabilities.

Isabel considers herself a change maker first and foremost (in fact her last 3 roles in Diageo didn’t exist when she joined, she helped shape and create them all!). She was instrumental in creating Diageo’s Centre of Digital Excellence (coDe), and now steers a team of 15 specialists embedded into marketing, tasked with using media, data and technology to make Diageo’s brands, from Guinness to Smirnoff, as relevant and impactful today as they ever have been.

Isabel first joined Diageo as Head of Media in Europe in 2013, in a move from Denstu Aegis Network, and is incredibly proud of the transformation she’s since driven: in the last 18 months, spearheading new global data tools and technology in the business, and in many places, more than doubling Diageo’s digital ROIs by setting a new standard for using media. For two years running, Isabel has led Future Makers, a global training event that upskills Diageo’s 1,200+ marketers across over 30 offices to stay ahead of the curve.

Isabel’s known for her creative approach to problem solving, feeling guilt-free about letting her mind wander and enjoying the surprise of where it takes her! She is happiest if you invite her to a spin class, followed by a Tanqueray and tonic (or two). In her spare time, Isabel also supports her husband Chris on CoProCo, a new non-profit social enterprise, making a difference to the local community.
