Jinal Shah, CMO US, Zip

Jinal serves as Chief Marketing Officer at Zip, a global financial services company and one of the fastest growing BNPL providers. Prior to Zip, she was CMO at Feather. Backed by Y Combinator and Kleiner Perkins, Feather was built to drive circular commerce with furniture. She was accountable for identifying product-market fit, revenue growth, and brand awareness. During her time at Feather, she doubled the company’s brand footprint, received Inc’s Best in Business 2020 recognition, Fast Company’s Best in Design award, The Lead’s Top 50 brands to watch recognition. At Feather, she delivered 32% YoY growth and built a sought-after consumer brand. She also led a stunning rebrand that was instrumental in driving the company’s exit (acquired in 2022).

Prior to joining Feather, she led omnichannel marketing and e-commerce at S’well, a culture shaping consumer goods company. Her approach with influencers and content marketing drove 45% efficiencies in CAC, earning S’well “Influencer Marketer of the Year” award at eTail West. Before S’well she led marketing for the $2B e-commerce division of Newell Brands where she built a high performing team of 80 from scratch and delivered 45% YoY growth across Amazon and Direct to Consumer. Jinal started her career as a fashion journalist at InStyle magazine. She later spent a decade in advertising, majority of them at WPP’s J. Walter Thompson where she actively partnered with global CMO’s and entrepreneurs on driving brand growth through digital innovation, content, and advertising.

Jinal was recognized as one of AdAge’s 40 Under 40. She was also honoured as one of Top Ten Digital Strategists to Watch by The Guardian and has been featured in Forbes, AdAge, LinkedIn, Fast Company, and The Drum. Her work has won recognition at Cannes, One Show, Effies, Webby’s, Inc Magazine, and others. She sits on the board of Ideas United (an Atlanta based creative studio) and was previous on the Advisory Board of CFDA’s sustainability program. She is also a Nest Fellow and a Mentor with Pharrell’s Black Ambition Incubator.

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.
