Joe Blommaert, Ex President Exxonmobil Low Carbon Solutions, Exxonmobil

Joe Blommaert, of Dutch-Indonesian heritage, born in the Netherlands, earned his MSc in Chemical Engineering at Delft University of Technology. After serving in the Royal Dutch Army, Joe joined Exxon Chemical Company in 1988 as a process engineer in the Netherlands.
Joe gained experience through several domestic and international assignments in operations, engineering, sales and marketing, and financial planning. He subsequently progressed in management and leadership roles with increasing responsibilities. In 2009, Joe was appointed Site Manager for chemical operations in Baytown, USA. In 2013, Joe was named Manager, New Business Development and in 2014, Joe was appointed ExxonMobil Chemical Company’s Regional Director of manufacturing based in Singapore. In 2019, he was named Senior Vice President of Operations for ExxonMobil Chemical Company overseeing manufacturing and supply chain operations globally and relocated back to Houston. In 2021, Joe was appointed the first President of ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, a newly established business of Exxon Mobil Corporation dedicated to commercializing lower-emission technologies for hard-to-decarbonize industries, and Vice President of Exxon Mobil Corporation.
In his retirement, Joe continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors of Asia Society Texas Center. Together with his wife Margie, Joe is a strong supporter of initiatives that foster awareness of the rich cultural heritage of Asia; Margie and Joe also support health care activities in their local community in the Woodlands, Texas, USA

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.

APPLICATIONS FOR THE GLOBAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM 2026 ARE OPEN

Applicants may apply to EITHER cohort regardless of country of residence, but must commit to attend both Residential dates & the Virtual day of their chosen cohort. Attendance is mandatory and a condition of acceptance onto the program.
