Johanna Campbell is a senior marketing and innovation executive with over 20 years’ experience leading brand, product, and category strategies across the FMCG and retail sectors in Australia, New Zealand, and internationally. She is currently General Manager – Brand, Growth & Product at Darrell Lea, a large-scale confectionery and healthy snacking business, where she leads a team delivering innovation and growth for Australia, New Zealand, and the USA.
At Darrell Lea, Johanna has led a full portfolio review and renovation, resulting in sustained EBITDA growth despite extreme cocoa price pressure. Her leadership has driven incremental revenue through innovation, including the transformation of Life Savers from a $5 million brand to one that is over 20x that size. She has also overseen US market expansion and Darrell Lea is the fastest growing premium liquorice brand in the market.
Prior to this, Johanna was General Manager of Marketing & Insights at Allied Pinnacle, Australia’s largest bakery and flour manufacturer, where she played a pivotal role in business integration, value-creating innovation, and a successful $1 billion private equity exit. Her earlier roles span leadership at Cerebos, Goodman Fielder, Frucor, and Unilever, where she held the role of Marketing Director for Savoury across Africa, the Middle East, and Turkey. Johanna holds master’s degrees in business studies (Economics) from Massey University, and Science (European Politics) from Edinburgh University, and is a NIQ BASES Breakthrough Innovation winner (2024). She has completed the AICD Foundations of Directorship. Known for her commercial acumen, pragmatic innovation, and team development, she is passionate about brand-building and innovation that delivers real consumer and business impact.
