John Dawson is Vice President of Strategy at Jellyfish in New York, where he leads media and AI strategy for US and global clients. Over the past year, he has turned a personal curiosity about artificial intelligence into a professional focus, helping brands navigate the opportunities and challenges of large language models and emerging marketing applications of AI. His work combines hands-on strategy with forward-looking research, giving clients both immediate solutions and long-term perspective on the future of marketing.
Before joining Jellyfish, John was based in Shanghai with Mindshare. During the height of COVID restrictions, his work not only drove impact in the Chinese market but was also recognized globally through award-winning campaigns, thought leadership, and cross-border collaboration. He has also lived and worked in Copenhagen, where he completed his MBA, adding a European perspective to his global outlook.
Originally from Sydney, John now calls New York home. Outside of work, he’s a keen (if inconsistent) runner, a surfer who hasn’t been in the water in two years, and a proud New York Public Library cardholder.
