Katie leads the Thinkerbell Sydney office as General Manager. Katie has played a significant role in the office’s growth over the past few years; including bringing in clients like Lion, Airtasker and Ladbrokes. Katie has been instrumental in helping Thinkerbell cement some worthy accolades under her watch, including, Mumbrella Independent, Creative and PR agency of the year, LIA AUNZ Independent Agency of the Year, and Best Ads number 1 agency in the world.
Katie has worked as a strategic client partner for 20 years in Australia, South Africa and the UK, across a myriad of different marketing categories, from financial services on IAG to QSR with the likes of KFC and McDonalds and has helped drive growth for her clients through commercial creativity.
In 2021, Katie was shortlisted as a B&T Women in Media Agency Sales Leader finalist. She has also been an industry mentor at the Trenches since 2019, lectures for the ACA and marks the occasional Effie paper.
Prior to her time at Thinkerbell, Katie was Managing Partner at CHE Proximity where she ran the Velocity and IAG businesses and picked up some metal at D&AD and Cannes Lion for her work on IAG ‘Sloways” and “First Saturdays”. Prior to that, Katie ran Y&R Sydney and guided them through their company merger with VML.
Katie also held other senior roles; namely at Ogilvy Sydney as Head of Account Management leading the KFC business. In South Africa, at the Jupiter Drawing Room running the Hyundai business, and at Leo Burnett London running McDonald’s UK.
But her genuine passion for commercial creativity started at The Campaign Palace way back when, where she learned the ropes on 3 Mobile (remember them) being mentored by some of our industry’s finest and most talented leaders today.
