Lindene Cleary, Chief Marketing Officer -Tourism Tasmania

Lindene is the Chief Marketing Officer for Tourism Tasmania, where she leads the team in differentiating Tasmania from the tourism marketing ‘sea of sameness’.

She brings more than 15 years’ experience globally to her role, along with a track record of fighting for better work that differentiates brands, connects meaningfully with consumers, and achieves the right commercial results. Her career spans marketing communications, brand management, writing, and agency account management, across the private and public sectors.

Lindene’s career happy place is in leading transformational and category defining marketing programs, which she has done for Tourism Tasmania, Coca-Cola in three countries, and on the agency side for Diageo. She enjoys building effective strategies, bringing those to life through decisive action, and motivating teams with a clear and compelling vision to encourage bravery, creativity, and high quality. She leads with a challenger spirit and strong communication, and she’s driven by capturing imaginations and effecting change.

As a proud Tasmanian Lindene feels lucky to provide her two cheeky daughters with a similar upbringing to hers, in a spirited place full of beauty, creativity, and community. On the weekends you’ll find the Cleary family exploring Tassie’s beaches, food markets, vineyards, and hidden gems, and Lindene loves curling up with a good book or toasting friends with a glass of Tassie sparkling wine (which really does rival Champagne).
