Marcus is a multidisciplinary creative and strategist who’s worked with some of the world’s leading media platforms and Fortune 500 brands, on both the agency and in-house side. His career work has been primarily driven by building new platforms and elevating powerful storytelling.
He currently leads marketing and social strategy for tentpole films and TV series from Apple’s newest platform, Apple TV. He’s built campaigns for titles such as the Academy Award-nominated CODA, the Golden Globes-nominated On the Rocks, and top-performing series such as SEE, Foundation and Invasion. His current role encompasses campaign strategy, creative direction, performance analysis and awards strategy. He’s also co-leading internal editorial initiatives focused on diversity.
Prior to Apple, Marcus worked at Netflix on the Global Creative Marketing team, overseeing campaign strategy and creative direction for original Documentary and Unscripted series. Before working in TV and film, he led brand partnership strategy and sponsored content development at CNN (for the Great Big Story division) and VICE Media (where he helped build The Creators Project), working with an array of brand partners such as Intel, Unilever, Snapchat and Dubai Tourism. His first job after college was at Ogilvy, where he helped build one of the first agency practices dedicated to online video. This practice developed IBM’s 2013 Cannes Gold Lion-winning A Boy and His Atom campaign.
Outside of marketing and campaign work, you can find Marcus pursuing other creative interests such as figurative painting and illustration, hanging with his wife and pet rabbit, or cheering for his alma mater, the Duke Blue Devils.
