1991 Mark started his career in media with a Melbourne based independent called Total Media
1998 Mark moved to Y&R where he worked as a planner, and helped launch MEC in that market
2003 Mark joined OMD Melbourne as Managing Director, and grew that office fourfold over a 3 year period
2006 Mark moved to Sydney to become CEO of OMD Australia, During that time the agency grew dramatically. It won several media agency of the year awards, employer of choice awards and its first Cannes Lion. By 2010 OMD Australia was named the country’s Media Agency of the Decade.
2011 Mark stays within the Omnicom Group, and becomes Australia’s first media agency leader to run a creative Agency, CHE.
2013 The lure of the media world was too great, and he came back to PHD Australia as CEO. In that time he was part of a core team that was instrumental in transforming that business. In 6 years, under his leadership the business grew to be a Top 4 player in this market. PHD has attracted clients like Bayer, Unilever, GSK, Virgin, VW and CUB to its national client base.
2020 Mark moved across to CEO of IPG Mediabrands, his first move to a holding company CEO. For the next 6 years he worked with advertisers like the Federal Government, Wesfarmers, Nestle, IAG and American Express. In his time there he oversaw one of the largest transformational programs seen in a media agency – building automation and AI into all levels of the business.
Mark was Chair of the Media Federation of Australia, and has/is serving on several Boards – The Melbourne International Comedy Festival, ADMA and the MFA.
2026 He is currently a Partner and Senior Advisor at 24 Hour Business Plan, and holds several other advisory and consulting roles.
