Mark’s career started in 1997 at the Post Office, before joining Thomas Cook and establishing new direct marketing programmes for their Tour Operating businesses. He joined the BGL Group in 2002, where he spent five years managing the Group’s own brand insurance products.
Mark moved to comparethemarket.com in 2007 and within two years had created one of the most loved brands in the UK. The launch of the Meerkats made the brand synonymous with entertaining and engaging marketing communications. The popularity of Aleksandr Orlov and the meerkat family led to Mark and the team delivering the first reward scheme across the category in the shape of the Meerkat Toy Collection, with over ten million toys distributed across the UK.
Building on these successes, Mark and his team have continually reinvented their marketing strategies; redefining loyalty in the category with new customer reward propositions such as Meerkat Movies and Meerkat meals, leading the charge on greater service orientation through Autosergei and delivering market leading engagement through innovative customer communication programmes and initiatives such as the streaming of Meerkat Music concerts during the pandemic.
