As CMO, Nick is working to make Spikeball a cultural icon in sports. Nick started as Spikeball’s second marketing hire and he’s grown the department to a team of 14 with responsibilities spanning product, content, e-commerce and partnerships. You may recognize Spikeball from tournament airings on ESPN, or from organic placements by Nissan’s “Heisman House”, Overtime, and the Jonas Brothers (they spike to warm-up before a performance, seriously).
Prior to Spikeball, Nick was a Global Marketing Director at Wilson Sporting Goods. While there he built global campaigns with the help of Roger Federer and Serena Williams. He also launched Wilson’s first connected product, a basketball that knew if it was made or missed thanks to an embedded sensor and machine learning.
Nick’s marketing career kicked off at Unilever where he spent 8 years working across brand activation, brand development and shopper marketing. Along the way he was a member of sales teams calling on Target, Walgreens & Dollar General. He created content with Fox’s hit show ’24.” And he launched a Super Bowl ad & campaign to send consumers to outer space.
Originally from Detroit Michigan, Nick now resides in Austin Texas. He spends the majority of his time playing with his son and daughter, but yes, he probably still could beat you at Spikeball.
