Nuala is currently the Brand Director for Destination Brands at Greene King, with responsibility for leading Brand Strategy and Brand Development. The Brand function is new at Greene King, and so it has been challenging and exciting in equal measure, creating some of the foundations to enable the business to become more customer and brand led, and ultimately achieving the ambition of growth through compelling brands. Her most recent achievement was leading a full customer and market led review of the full Greene King pub portfolio.
The bulk of Nuala’s experience has been working in service-led business, with previous roles including a number of senior marketing positions at Mitchells and Butlers, and as Resort Brand Manager at Alton Towers, it’s through these roles she learnt the importance and impact of engaging all levels of the business in the Brand promise, particularly those at the frontline, who are bringing the brand to life for guests. The foundations of her career were in FMCG at Kerrygold Butter, working across all parts of the marketing mix, learning, and applying some the basic principles.
Nuala gets her energy from others, and thrives working across multiple teams, which must come from being part of a big family, with 52 cousins! As a mum of 2, life is busy but fun, playing an active role in her local community. In her spare time, she enjoys walking in the Derbyshire countryside, keeping fit, and playing the role of taxi and cheerleader for all her children’s activities.
