Philippa has proudly built her career at Wavemaker, first joining the agency over 16 years ago as a Media Assistant, progressing to her current role as Chief Investment Officer, tasked with leading investment strategy for Wavemaker clients nationally. Working with some of Australia’s most iconic brands, including L’Oreal, Mondelez, Jetstar, Australia Post, ViacomCBS, Mitsubishi, Vodafone, Hungry Jacks, NSW and SA Governments she helps marketers effectively navigate rapid changes in the media landscape, with a focus on automation and addressability.
Described as a generous mentor and inspiring leader, Philippa is collaborative and astute – able to build trust and respect within a network, with capability in leading a large diverse team and embedding a values-based culture. In 2021, Philippa was a B&T Best of the Best finalist and Campaign Asia APAC Women Leading Change finalist. In 2019, Philippa was named winner of B&T’s Women in Media, in the Media Planner / Buyer category. She also completed the WPPAUNZ Walk The Talk program, designed to unlock leadership potential and champion diversity across the network, and represented Wavemaker at Adland BailOut, spending the night in a correction facility alongside industry leaders to raise funds for youth at risk, which led to the on-boarding of not-for profit Whitelion as a pro bono client.
The 2020 Whitelion campaign, led in conjunction with Ogilvy, is now Wavemaker’s most highly awarded campaign, including four Caples Awards, Mumbrella Pro Bono Media Campaign of the Year, APAC Effies Gold for Media Innovation and Cannes Lions Finalist for Best Use of Platform. Outside of work, Philippa is a single mum to her three young children, and takes every opportunity to travel back to Fiji, with her family – a place she refers to as her second home and where she has led charity projects to support remote villages.
