Rebecca Robertson, Managing Partner, Howatson + Company

Rebecca is Managing Partner at independent agency, Howatson+Company and part of the exec leadership team of 10. The company is just under two years old and since Rebecca joined in its infancy, has experienced significant growth under her leadership, seeing the agency swell to 115 today. Howatson+Company was recognised as Australia’s best independent agency in 2022. She is responsible for H+Co’s Melbourne campus, having been instrumental in shaping their offering delivering Intersectional Creativity, building culture, and developing the business. Most recently, Bec led H+Co to achieve their Climate Active certification, joining only 467 other Australian companies in doing so. She is focused on leading the agency, and supporting the industry, in ways to reduce their overall environmental impact over time.

Rebecca has spent her 15-year career working in Australia, London, and New York, which has shaped her leadership style, as an empathetic leader, observant of cultural nuances and an understanding of how to communicate in new and unfamiliar situations. She has led many strategic resets for major global and multi-national client organisations, from brands as diverse as JP Morgan Chase and Yoplait, to Australian Retirement Trust and MYOB. She is passionate about solving business challenges from the inside out, ensuring the internal enablement of business transformation, is as considered as the external expression.

Rebecca is a born communicator who places enormous value on the relationships she builds with her teams and clients alike, and when she’s not focused on influencing board decisions with her clients, she’s busy negotiating with her two smallest clients, her young son and daughter. As an advisory board member of the Starlight Foundation, Rebecca is driven by the desire to leave the world a better place for her children and understands the influence the marketing industry has on shaping the culture we live in and the decisions we make.
