Ruth Goumans is an analytical and entrepreneurial marketer with a track record of delivering successful strategic projects and campaigns. She has a breadth of experience growing brands across industries including QSR and FMCG.
Ruth currently is a Brand Manager in the Retail & Media team for KFC South Pacific, with an annual turnover of more than $2.5 billion. For the past 3 years she has been leading cross-functional and agency teams to deliver marketing campaigns. Ruth is currently redefining KFC’s value strategy to ensure sales and transaction growth for the KFC brand. She is an expert in retail strategy and loves growing brands as well as people. In a previous role Ruth led KFC’s TV and sponsorship strategy elevating the brand beyond the category with highly integrated brand campaigns.
Before moving to Australia in 2019, Ruth worked at Nestle where she transformed the Dutch Infant Nutrition business. She launched a new infant formula brand named Little Steps to enter a new product segment as challenger brand. This involved working with members of the Nestle global leadership team to create and execute a go-to-market strategy. She also created an eCommerce strategy which enabled the broader infant nutrition category to grow online.
Prior to this, Ruth worked at Stage Entertainment, a global leader in musical theatre productions. This enabled her to build her marketing experience and knowledge in the B2B part of the business after finishing her Master’s Degree in Marketing.
Galvanising teams is what Ruth does best and she leverages this strength both inside and outside work. Since 2019 she has been a patrolling member of Surf Life Saving NSW and has also contributed her marketing skills to projects with the Girl Guides NSW/ACT/NT. Outside of work and lifesaving Ruth loves spending time with her family, working out and cooking.
