Simon is the fractional Chief Customer Officer for British Horseracing, and the Managing Director of Cactus Solutions – an independent consultancy dedicated to helping businesses, brands, and individuals to evolve and thrive, even in the most challenging environments.
Prior to that, Simon was the Chief Customer & Strategy Officer at Riviera Travel – the private equity owned River Cruise specialist, having begun his career in FMCG, clocking-up 15 years at P&G, PepsiCo and Kantar Consulting, before making a leap into television, where he spent a decade in a variety of C-Suite roles at UKTV / BBC Studios.
Simon is a 2014/15 Fellow of The Marketing Academy, a member of the Alumni Council, and Chair of the Alumni “Inbetweeners” group. Passionate about driving positive change and unlocking potential for others, Simon is also a Fellow of the Marketing Society, an active coach & mentor, and a trustee of Brooklands Museum – the original home of British motorsport & aviation.
Outside of work, Simon juggles conflicting passions for environmental issues, motorsport, & all things automotive. When not messing around with cars & motorbikes, he’s a regular gym goer and fan of film, television & the NFL. Always keen to add strings to his bow and combine quality family time with new interests, he has recently taken up clay pigeon shooting with his youngest son.
