Suzi Watford, Chief Strategy Officer, The Washington Post

Suzi Watford has been Chief Growth Officer, SiriusXM and then before that EVP, Consumer Dow Jones and Chief Marketing & Membership Officer – The Wall Street Journal, overseeing global sales & marketing, consumer revenue and Dow Jones membership strategy.

She assumed the role in November 2014. Suzi has led WSJ to the biggest membership in its history – more than doubling the digital membership and attracting WSJ’s largest ever audience of student members. Membership is now the largest revenue line at Dow Jones. She built the WSJ’s conference business introducing The Future of Everything Festival and creating Journal House – an immersive brand and news experience that has won awards and travelled the globe. In addition to this Suzi launched the Professional Membership business – including the C Suite networks and the WSJ CEO Council.

With over twenty years of experience in the media industry, Ms. Watford joined Dow Jones from News UK where she oversaw The Times and The Sunday Times. Suzi started her career as a graduate trainee for The Times after applying for a job that was advertised in the back of the newspaper.

She serves on the board of INMA (International News Media Association) and is an alum of The Marketing Academy Fellowship Program.

She is originally from Liverpool, England and is now based in New York with her

The program is free but highly selective so firstly we ask senior business leaders working within Marketing, Media and Advertising to nominate the best of their emerging leaders for a place on the program. All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.
