Tim Whirledge, Head of Strategy, McCann Manchester

Tim is Head of Strategy at McCann Manchester where he is on a mission to create the conditions for people far smarter than him to do the best work of their careers. He is responsible for building a creative effectiveness culture that spans brand and media planning, social content, customer experience design and PR resulting in the UK’s favourite carrot for Aldi or more recently freeing Cuthbert the caterpillar.

Tim is also a passionate believer in the leadership role marketing has in coaching humanity to avoid further devastation caused by the climate crisis. He is an active contributor to the ad industry network ‘The Purpose Disruptors’ and authored the brief that led to ‘The Great Reset’ campaign last year which aimed to encourage the UK to maintain the eco-friendly behaviours fostered during the first lockdown.

Prior to working with talking veg, Tim has worked at a number of London agencies including Droga5, AMV, Ogilvy and Red Bee Media working across FMCG, telco, entertainment, charity and car brands winning a number of effectiveness and creative awards along the way. His focus now is on creating work that works which means growth for people and the planet.
