Tobias is a passionate storyteller, marketer and leader with 14 years’ experience across Australia’s largest publishing, media and tech brands.
In his current role as Executive Manager for Audience & Growth at REA Group, Tobias leads diverse teams of content marketers, social marketers, videographers, journalists as well as economists and data scientists, to help millions of Australians make good property decisions. Passionate about data and economics, most recently Tobias has built a team of Australia’s top economists, tasked with transforming REA Group’s rich behavioural data into actionable market insights for consumers, and advanced data products for customers. In his second year at REA, Tobias’s contribution to the group’s success was recognised, winning the REA Group CEO Award for wide-reaching professional impact, supporting and teaching others and embodying the group’s values. Tobias also takes great pride in his role spearheading and hosting a Festival of Ideas for Marketing at REA Group, which has now been running two years.
Prior to REA, Tobias was Content & Data Director at Australia’s no.2 property marketplace, Domain Group. Tobias’s role was to transform what was a weekly print magazine into an always-on, data-driven digital content play, underpinning the group’s rapid growth in audience. During this time Tobias also gave keynote talks on the power of content and digital marketing at Mumbrella360 and other corporate events.
Before Domain, Tobias worked as a property journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald, while studying Economics and Political Economy at the University of Sydney. A keen traveller and hiker, in 2019 Tobias spent six months in South America, learning Spanish and trekking through Patagonia. Currently based in Sydney’s Bronte, when away from the desk you’ll find Tobias out surfing or on long-distance swims.
