Tom’s advertising career has spanned more than twenty-five years across a broad range of roles and agencies.
He started as a graduate at Ogilvy, rising to New Business Director at the age of 27. He became Managing Director of independent agency DFGW at the age of 32 and, since its acquisition by Freuds, has held senior management positions at JWT London (where he was Managing Director) and at AMV BBDO (where, amongst other things, he led the European business for Mars Chocolate).
He has been at McCann since 2016, where he oversees communications for Mastercard across all markets in Europe.
Tom is one of a handful of people to have held board-level positions in advertising, digital, direct marketing and PR agencies and has helped clients to produce award-winning campaigns at all major global shows, including Cannes, D&AD, the Webbys, IPA Effectiveness and APG.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (FIPA) and has a passion for developing people and their understanding of how business works. He has interviewed candidates for The Marketing Academy Scholarship since 2012.
Outside work, Tom’s main passions are lower league football, buying far too many vinyl records and embarrassing his nine year-old twin daughters, Daisy and Georgina.
