Ulrich Klenke, Chief Marketing Officer, Deutsche Telekom AG

Ulrich Klenke, born in 1971, has been Chief Marketing Officer at Deutsche Telekom since April 1, 2020. In this role, he is responsible for the national and international brand management of Europe’s leading telecommunications group. Ulrich Klenke is a recognized marketing communication expert and has more than 20 years of experience in this field.

After completing his degree in business administration, he began his professional career at Mercedes-Benz in 1995. After several positions within the DaimlerChrysler group, he worked in the corporation’s German sales organization at the start of the 2000s where his tasks included brand and product communication for the Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge brands. Ulrich Klenke then moved to become Managing Director at the DDB advertising agency in Berlin. In 2007, he took up the role as Head of Marketing at Deutsche Bahn AG and, in 2015, became CEO of the Ogilvy Germany advertising agency. Following this role, he worked as a business consultant for the Board of Management at Volkswagen AG for two years. His achievements there included the launch of the ID. electromobility brand in 28 European countries.

Deutsche Telekom is now the most valuable brand in Europe and one of the most valuable brands worldwide. The company’s strategic and commercial successes are proof of the value of the brand, which makes a sustainable contribution to the company’s success.

All ‘nominees’ then receive an ‘Invitation to Apply’ which includes essential information about the process.
