Following a competitive 3 stage selection process The Marketing Academy Australia has selected the 30 marketing executives from client-side brands, media owners, agencies and start-ups to attend itโ€™s world class Scholarship Program.

This free but highly selective development program for the best talent in the industry is designed to utilize the collective knowledge of C Suite executives to develop the Scholars skills and prepare them for their journey towards board level business leaders. Now entering its 8th year in Australia there are 210 alumni of the program who frequently describe the experience as โ€˜transformationalโ€™ and โ€˜life changingโ€™.
The program includes one-to-one mentoring with an enviable line up of board level executives including; Kristi Woolrych, CMO KFC; Anubha Sahasrabuddhe CMO, Lion; Jeremy Nicholas, CMO, Telstra; Sweta Mehra, CMO, ANZ; Jenni Dill CMO, Arnottโ€™s; Susan Coghill, CMO, Tourism Australia; Peter Horgan, CEO, Omnicom Media Group; Stuart Tucker, CMO, Hipages; Mark Coad, CEO, IPG Mediabrands; Brent Smart, CMO, IAG; Lisa Ronson, CMO, Coles and Leisa Bacon, Director of Audiences at ABC.

In addition to mentoring, Scholars are each assigned an Executive Coach, attend 3 residential โ€˜Boot Campsโ€™ packed with inspirational speakers, and attend lectures & masterclasses hosted by renowned experts from around the world. Each appointed Scholar will also receive 10 places for their teams and colleagues to enrol on the online development program โ€˜The Marketing Academy Virtual Campusโ€™.
The Marketing Academy Founder & Global CEO, Sherilyn Shackell, said: โ€œIt is deeply gratifying to see that the marketing, media and advertising industry remains committed to developing the skills and leadership capability of its talent through its ongoing support of The Marketing Academy in Australia. This yearsโ€™ cohort, our 8th in Australia, represents the calibre and potential of the remarkable emerging leaders in this country yet again. Along with our Mentors, Executive Coaches, Partnersโ€™ and teaching faculty, we remain utterly dedicated to ensuring the pipeline of future Board level talent continues to thrive and that our incredible Scholars will be supported in their ambitions to positively impact our brands & agencies for years to comeโ€

โ€œIt wasnโ€™t until I finished the first Marketing Academy bootcamp, that I realised how lucky I was to have earnt my place on this program. Program doesnโ€™t do it justice โ€“ itโ€™s membership to a money canโ€™t buy club, some would say cult and theyโ€™d be right. As an Alumni of the Covid year (2020), I have graduated with more than I could have ever imagined โ€“ an incredible cohort of friends who speak daily, access to the worldโ€™s best speakers and the support of the global Alumni network. My experience from The Marketing Academy played a crucial role in my recent promotion and I stand proud in a co-CEO role with a current Marketing Academy scholar, where together we apply the tools and learnings to our own leadership journey โ€ Laura Nice, Co-CEO OMD (2020 Scholar)
