A Busy Year for The Marketing Academy Foundation

It’s been a busy year so far for The Marketing Academy Foundation.  We have a number of apprentices placed in host companies, including Virgin Atlantic and The Princes Trust.  Some of our apprentices are now nearing the end of their placements and are looking for new, permanent roles.  They’re already had some great success with getting their first jobs in the marketing industries.  So congratulations to all of you!

Foundation new apprentices

The apprentices have also been busy studying for their various marketing qualifications, again supported by The Marketing Academy Foundation.  So far 3 apprentices have passed their IDM Dipolmas and one has passed the first stage of the CIM Foundation certificate.

To help the apprentices get ready for their job searches, The Foundation held an “interview bootcamp”, kindly hosted by ClearChannel.  During the day-long bootcamp they were put through their paces in a series of simulated interviews with real-life marketing leaders.  One of apprentices went from the bootcamp straight into a actual interview and got the job, she credited the experience she’d got from the bootcamp in helping her ace her interview!

The Marketing Academy Foundation is a registered charity and always needs support and funds to continue with their important work.  This year we’ve been lucky enough to get two new host companies, Karmarama and Nationwide.  They will provide roles for 3 new apprentices and we are eternally grateful for their support.  We have a number of other opportunities in the pipeline but we are always looks for more though, so please get in touch to discuss! info@tma-foundation.org

In addition to our hosts, we also have a number of different fundraising initiatives to help support our work.  In April our amazing fundraising team held a conference at Facebook “Leadership in a Day”, where a number of industry leaders, including Dame Cilla Snowball, came together to talk about how to be a better leader.  A big thank you Edd Layton who has overseen the whole programme, and to  Gini Sharvill and Jo Hargreaves who lead the successful conference event.  Also a big shout out to all the volunteers to worked so hard on this and delivered such a brilliant event and over £25K in donations.  This money will go towards training our apprentices and providing the support they need.  We are always looking for help fundraising so do get in touch if you want to get involved.

Please look out for forthcoming events and please do get in touch if you want to get involved or host an apprentice!
