Emma Harris Appointed Chair of Global Alumni Program at The Marketing Academy

The Marketing Academy (TMA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Emma Harris, as the Chair of the Global Alumni Program.

The Global Alumni Program, which currently serves over 1,300 alumni across four regional cohorts (UK, EMEA, Australia, and the US), plays a pivotal role in TMA’s mission to inspire, connect, and promote the world’s top marketing, media, and communications talent.

Emma, CEO of the brand and culture business, Glow London, has been part of the TMA family since its inception. Her new responsibilities will see her oversee the global expansion of TMA’s Alumni community, uniting regional chairs and councils to elevate the value and impact of the program worldwide.

Emma will work closely with the Regional Chairs, TMA Program Leads, and alumni members to enhance community engagement, foster collaboration across regions, and raise the profile of the Alumni network globally.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Emma join us in this important role,” said Sherilyn Shackell, CEO of The Marketing Academy. “Her strategic vision and track record as an outstanding leader will be invaluable in strengthening the Global Alumni Program. The actual programmes are just the beginning of the TMA journey; so much value comes from being part of the alumni community so it’s vital that we do our utmost to maximise the experience and impact across our industry”.

Emma’s responsibilities will include defining the overall strategy for the Global Alumni Program, improving cohesion and transparency between regional chairs and councils, and identifying opportunities for growth and innovation across the alumni network. She will also champion the visibility of TMA’s alumni within the marketing industry, working to position them as the leading community of top-tier talent.

“I’m incredibly excited to have an official role helping to shape the future of TMA’s Global Alumni Program,” said Emma Harris. “I have been involved in the academy for over a decade in many guises as either a mentor, speaker, host, board advisor, and I believe passionately in our mission and am really excited to contribute to their continued development and success. TMA’s alumni represent the very best in marketing and communications and by fostering stronger connections between our regions and enhancing the value of the alumni network, we can achieve great things together.”
