Luca was formerly Vice President and General Manager of Film and Foil, a $1B business unit of Amcor, a $13B global packaging company listed on the NYSE and part of the S&P500. He oversees a 1,200+ team developing, producing and commercializing differentiated and responsible packaging solutions across all end-market segments, from pharmaceutical and medical to food & beverage and home & personal care. He is also leading the Amcor Flexibles Sustainability Initiative, which is tasked to implement Amcor Sustainability agenda across all $9B global Flexibles Business Groups. He joined Amcor in 2014 as Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Business Development; in 2016 he was promoted to Vice President Marketing, Innovation, Sustainability and Commercial Excellence, where he assembled a 300+ team driving profitable growth through all marketing levers and a focused innovation and sustainability agenda.
Luca is an executive and general manager with proven experience in running P&Ls and in capturing market opportunities in BtoB organizations -both in public industrial corporations like Hewlett-Packard, Honeywell, Amcor and in PE-backed companies like Florida Tile. He also honed his business skills as a management consultant at Bain & Company, both in its general practice and in the Private Equity team.
He holds an MBA with Honors in Finance, Entrepreneurship and Multinational Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, and an Industrial Engineering Master from the Polytechnic in Milan. Throughout his career he has consistently focused on developing teams and engaging in businesses with Sustainability, Innovation and Design components -and with a strong sense of purpose to make a difference for the people and the world we live in.
Luca has been recently selected to be part of the Duke Executive Development Program and the Aspen Institute First Movers, and he is undergoing The Marketing Academy Fellow program. He also represents Amcor at key global industry initiatives as the Consumer Goods Forum and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. He is a Kentucky Colonel and an active member of the Wharton Alumni Club.
Finally, he is an Non-Executive Director on the Board of RAB Lighting, a leading North American LED lighting player; and he is Vice-Chair of the General Assembly of Flexibles Packaging Europe, the industry association representing companies that manufacture all types of flexible packaging including food, beverage and pharmaceutical applications and Chair of CEFLEX, a key industry collaborative initiative comprising FMCG brand owners and the entire value chain to accelerate the implementation of collection, sorting and recycling infrastructure in Europe.
