Polly Cochrane, EVP & CMO Harry Potter Global Franchise – Warner Bros

Polly joined Warner Bros. as VP & Group Marketing Director WBUK, in March 2009, with a brief to lead and pull together the Marketing and Publicity across all business divisions in the UK. She was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2010, adding responsibility for the global management of the Harry Potter franchise to her remit in July 2014; she was promoted to Executive Vice President in June 2016.

Prior to Warner Bros. Polly worked at Channel 4, joining in 1998 where latterly, as Director of Marketing and Communications, she had responsibility for managing the brand during a period of rapid diversification across new digital television platforms. Whilst at 4, Polly founded 4creative, an award winning in-house creative agency which went on to win Channel 4 the accolade of Campaign’s Advertiser of the Year in 2005. Polly was also Director of Freeview (2005-2008) and a Non Exec Director of the Department for Communities and Local Government (2008).

Previously, Polly had worked across titles at Guardian Newspapers Ltd, before joining Channel 5 to oversee the launch marketing campaign for Britain’s last terrestrial channel.

Polly spent the first four years of her career in advertising, joining WCRS as a graduate trainee with a degree in Architecture from Cambridge. She moved client side in 1992 to become Marketing and Communication Manager for Vanity Fair magazine and has stayed in the media industry ever since.
