Alastair Gibbons, Marketing Manager GB & Intl, Kerry Foods

Ali Gibbons is a senior marketing leader at global food business, Kerry Foods. There he leads a team of dynamic marketers across the UK and Mainland Europe, with full P&L responsibility for the Iconic Strings & Things/Cheestrings Brands. Successes to date include: the delivery of a Masterbrand repositioning in GB to support consumers’ discovery of a range of NPD, including the category first Cheeshapes, and a new communications strategy across Europe focused on driving the brands popularity with kids. This activity and more has culminated in Ali delivering double digit growth across all markets and record penetration levels.

Prior to this, Ali studied Law at the University of Leeds, and began his career in Marketing working at Britvic Soft drinks on the Robinsons brand. Subsequently, Ali has spent the last six years at Kerry Foods driving growth on a number of brands within the portfolio. This includes Pure, a range of dairy-free spreads for which he leveraged the free from boom to drive growth ahead of the market. Whilst in his previous role Ali led a business unit team to re-shape the Fridge Raiders brand P&L to drive profitability and create an adult snacking revolution. Despite these achievements, his biggest career highlight has to be completing the 3 Peaks Challenge with 13 of his colleagues, yet still returning to work the Monday after!

Outside of Marketing, Ali loves his sports in particular Rugby and Football, where he has the unenviable task of supporting perennial underachievers Aston Villa and Bath. He’s a better watcher than player, but still proudly displays his two Balham Tag Rugby championship medals he has won on the mantlepiece at his Battersea flat.
