Florence Broderick, VP Marketing – CARTO

Florence Broderick currently leads Solutions Marketing globally at CARTO – a Location Intelligence software company backed by Salesforce, Accel and Earlybird. Since joining, Florence has spearheaded some of the company’s most important product launches including a joint venture with Google Waze and the launch of a new app on Salesforce’s App Exchange.

Previous to this, Florence worked at Telefonica for 5 years in a series of marketing and business development roles in Europe and Latin America – before being fast tracked by the group Chief Data Officer to lead the marketing strategy for the telco’s Big Data unit (LUCA) in 2016.

Before this, Florence had participated in their 2-year International Young Leaders graduate programme, after being selected from over 2000 candidates to join the 15 strong cohort. During the scheme, she worked on the launch of the O2 Car Connection product in Germany, defined a strategic marketing plan for the TU Go app in Brazil and Argentina and sold the company’s data monetization product (Smart Steps) to brands such as PepsiCo and Clear Channel.

Outside of her work, Florence was selected as one of 30 young leaders to attend the One Young World summit in Dublin (2014) and Ottawa (2016), where she spoke to over 2000 people about her work in Big Data for Social Good projects before becoming an OYW ambassador.

Florence also co-founded a corporate Millennial Network to empower young talent at Telefonica, gaining sponsorship from the group CEO and President, attracting more than 1000 members in 19 countries in 6 months.

A passionate sportswoman in her spare time, Florence regularly plays club cricket in men’s and women’s leagues and also founded the Telefonica women’s football team. She is also a passionate linguist, speaking Spanish and French fluently – and is currently learning Portuguese.
