Josh Turner, Founder – Stand4 & Strides

Josh is the founder of Stand4 Socks, a social enterprise, which all started from an off the cuff comment of ‘what if socks could change the world?’, yes socks!

Josh founded the multi award winning sock venture to disrupt not only the sock market, but also the charity sector. He was fed up of socks being a poorly made, dull afterthought and sought to make socks the most meaningful way to start our day. Creating enhanced comfort socks that not only look, and feel good but also do good, innovating on the famous ‘buy one, give one’ model. Whereby purchasing one pair of socks also provides a specially made pair to a homeless person. Stand4 also has tangible impacts in 9 countries, across 14 different international causes from gender equality to health, hitting 11 of the 17 United Nations Global Goals. They do this through a range of over 90 socks, across bamboo, organic cotton, sports and corporate ranges. Josh has fully bootstrapped the business to date, learning all areas of the business from developing the brand, the ethical supply chain to even designing the socks themselves.

Through Stand4, Josh wants to create a movement where every transaction, however big or small, has a positive impact on the world. If socks can change the world, then why can’t buying a house? A coffee? Or Booking a holiday? Josh is an active advocate and Key Note speaker of the business as a force for good movement globally. He aims to personally disrupt the meaning of a transaction and create a more relevant and transparent charity model for the future.

In his spare time Josh likes to play American football and also travel the world.
