Marketing Academy takes on Partnership Director

Heineken marketer Michelle Keaney is to take on new responsibilities in the voluntary role of Partnership Director at The Marketing Hall of Legends, the not for profit organisation behind the esteemed Marketing Academy.  Michelle was one of the Marketing Academy’s first class of scholars when the scheme launched in 2010.

Her task will be to ensure that commercial partners of The Marketing Academy, which provides coaching, mentoring and experiential learning to the industry’s brightest youngsters, are getting maximum value from the Marketing Academy brand and connections.

The voluntary role will also see Michelle charged with identifying new partnerships to help develop The Marketing Academy’s offerings across its existing and new programmes. The Marketing Academy’s success and increasing stature has driven growth in the number of partnerships and associations with people, agencies and clients from every sector and discipline.  The Partnership Director role has been created in recognition of that growth and with the aim of ensuring maximum benefit and value is realised in every case.

Michelle Keaney is known as one of the most talented and dedicated young marketers shaping our industry. In her role leading Marketing Capability development at Heineken in the UK, Michelle is charged with the delivery of strategic and functional marketing capabilities across the entire UK Marketing Team. She works across Heineken’s core portfolio of brands including Heineken, Fosters, Strongbow,Kronenbourg and Bulmers.

Prior to joining Heineken, Michelle held the post of Retail Sales and Marketing manager at The Walt Disney Company, leading integrated marketing initiatives with Sainsbury’s and Toys ‘R’ Us across properties including Winnie the Pooh, Toy Story, Disney Princess and Cars.

Marketing Hall of Legends chairman and Marketing Academy Founder Sherilyn Shackell said: “We’re delighted that Michelle is joining The Marketing Academy team to develop our Partner relations.  The Academy is built upon the support of individuals and companies across the marketing, advertising and communications space and we want to ensure that we can give as much as possible back to them in return for their support.”
