Opened in the UK in 2010 and Australia in 2014 The Marketing Academy (TMA) is a non-profit, voluntary organisation which focuses on the development of leadership capability in talented marketers from the Marketing, Media, Advertising and Communications industries via its much coveted Scholarship and Fellowship Programmes.
In support of ambitious expansion plans The Marketing Academy has bolstered its team with 4 new appointments.
Oli Barrett MBE is no stranger to TMA having been a regular at the Scholarship ‘boot camps’ in the UK for many years. In the newly created role of International Development Director Oli will support, promote & develop TMA’s activities around the world including new programmes planned in the USA, Middle East and Asia. He is a Co Founder of Start up Britain and also co-founded social enterprise agency Cospa, Tenner (the UK’s largest schools enterprise challenge) and SpeedNetwork the Globe.
In her role heading up the TMA’s newly formed charitable foundation Daryl Fielding brings with her in depth knowledge from working in companies such as Vodafone, Mondelez and Ogilvy in addition to NED and charity trustee experience. Her role will be to develop the Marketing Academy’s Apprenticeship Programme and build a platform to provide young people with access to a career in marketing, media or advertising. The new foundation will launch in Q1 2017.
As Head of Events and Community Leonie Paris will manage TMA learning events across all of its programmes, lectures, ‘boot camps’ and masterclasses supporting the Academys stellar line up of speakers & mentors. She is a seasoned events organiser working most recently with Unilever and formerly with D&AD.
An Alumni of the Scholarship Programme Kathryn Marriott is Head of Commercial Marketing at Global, the Media and Entertainment Group and has been appointed as the first Chairman of the Alumni in a voluntary capacity. She will head up a newly formed Alumni Council to oversee a programme of activities designed for the 268 Alumni of the Scholarship Programme. The Council includes Claire Hollands of AMV BBDO, Ross Farquhar of 101 London, Selina Sykes of Unilever, Grace Letley of Vizeum, Liz Le Breton of BBC, Simon McEvoy of Three Point Zero, Emma Padwick of Global and Neil Searle of British Gas
