Mat is an SVP – Group Account Director at McCann New York. For the past three years he has been leading the global Cigna account. Working with multiple McCann Worldgroup companies, he is responsible for the overall global brand & communication strategy and specifically the creative work in the US. He has led award-winning creative like the TV Doctors of America campaign as well as recently launching a global Stress Care platform across multiple markets.
Mat is also the executive sponsor of the Voice Committee at McCann NY, an employee-led group tasked with providing peer feedback and suggestions on how to continually promote and improve the agency culture.
Before moving to New York in 2016, Mat worked at J. Walter Thompson in London in both New Business and Account Management. He gained experience across multiple markets, brands and categories including Retail, CPG, Finance and Pharmaceuticals and as well as growing the agency’s revenue organically and through new client acquisition.
Originally born in Jackson, Tennessee (but raised in Stratford-upon-Avon in the UK) Mat is excited to be back in his birth country. Outside of work he travels to different states to learn about and absorb as much of the culture as possible. With 20 states ticked off so far he still has a long way to go to see them all – but he is determined to. He also enjoys walking his Wheaten Terrier puppy named Baloo.
